Resource conservation in practice

The theme of sustainability is ever-present. Yet what does technical implementation look like in reality? What contribution do trade fair construction companies make, whose products are often disposable in character?

Sustainable production processes and constant improvement in its energy footprint have been a central requirement at ZEISSIG for a long time now. Hence, in recent years, thanks to the consistent modernization of the production equipment, both considerable energy savings and optimization of waste material, i.e. of waste reduction, have been achieved.

The latest achievement is the installation of a combined heating, extraction and heat recovery system, in which all the residual timber from production and non-reusable exhibition components, once shredded, are used as fuel, and a considerable proportion of the thermal energy from the extracted air continues to be used. Waste disposal and energy generation thus go hand in hand, and we consistently avoid using fossil fuels to heat our 12,000 m2 floor space.
